The Advanced Halberd is an upgraded version of the Halberd. It is a multi-role escort ship for the Colonials. It gains an additional weapons slot, enabling the Advanced Halberd to carry 7 weapons, more than any other Colonial escort ship has. When combined with the additional hull points, increased hull recovery rate, and increased power recharge rate, the Advanced Halberd can be a very effective ship in combat against Cylons. This tends to make it a popular choice for Colonial pilots.
The Advanced Halberd is upgraded from the standard version at a cost of 45,000 merits. This can be done by talking to Galen Tyrol in the Galactica CIC or to any Colonial Outpost Quartermaster. Due to the high merit costs, only experienced players tend to have the Advanced Halberd.
In-game description
"A reclaimed Halberd that has undergone additional repairs and a more comprehensive refit. Fully integrating modern colonial fire control and reactor management systems allows the Advanced Halberd to support more forward weapon batteries than other escorts, and hull integrity is improved. Due to the expense of customizing and maintaining an Advanced Halberd, it is only made available to the most dedicated and experienced combat pilots."
